Our Training Program

The TUSCEB (Training Undergraduates in Stem Cell Engineering and Biology) program aims to offer specialized training in Stem Cell Biology and Engineering to a diverse group of student leaders. This program also provides valuable opportunities for research in various science disciplines and introduces students to potential career paths in regenerative medicine.

TUSCEB is a collaborative effort between the School of Natural Sciences and the School of Engineering at UC Merced. It is designed to cater to undergraduate majors in Biological Sciences and Engineering. The foundation of this pilot program is built on inquiry and research-based activities, which are structured across three academic semesters and two summer sessions.

In addition to the core curriculum and a Capstone project, students will engage in various supplementary experiences integrated throughout the program. These experiences encompass undergraduate research, participation in external industry internships, professional development, one-on-one mentoring, involvement in patient and healthcare engagement activities, and contributions to community outreach efforts.
